Distinguished Achievement Program
The Distinguished Achievement High School Program (DAP) recognizes students who demonstrate levels of performance equivalent to college students or work done by professionals. (This Program is set by the Texas Education Agency.) This graduation program not only requires credits in certain courses, but also has an advanced measures component. The requirements can be found in the AISD Secondary School Information Guide: http://www.austinisd.org/academics/docs/2009schoolguide/en/ssig_2009_3.pdf or on the LASA web site at: http://www.lasaonline.org/docs/DAP.pdf LASA students are encouraged to go above and beyond the DAP and graduate with a MAGNET ENDORSEMENT in addition to their diploma. The endorsement has three parts: graduating on the Distinguished Achievement Plan, Texas's most rigorous graduation plan (see above); completing mathematics through precalculus; and being enrolled and earning credit in a math or science course in their senior year. |
